This is an additional handset for the Panasonic KXTG6591, this is not a stand alone cordless telephone.
Panasonic DECT 6.0 technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. Phone comes with an answering machine with an 18 minute record time. Other helpful features include a talking caller ID in the base and handset, 3 one-touch dials, a lighted keypad, 5-step inbound sound amplification, 7-step handset speakerphone amplification, a 50 number phone book, visual ring indicator, and 6 step adjustable ringer volume.
** Additional handset bases do not require being plugged into a phone line jack. The charging base merely plugs into an electrical outlet and the handset works from the main base phone to which it is married/connected. This is great for use in rooms which do not have a telephone jack.
