Therapeutic Hip Positioning
The SoftPro® HKO features an adjustable hip abduction bar with incremental settings in 5-degree steps, ranging from 30° to 45° of hip abduction. To promote a gentle, progressive stretch of the hip adductors, the abduction bar can be positioned 5 degrees beyond the user's comfortable end range. Gradually increasing wear time to 3–6 hours per session optimizes Total End Range Time (TERT), encouraging gradual tissue elongation and improved hip alignment over time. As device wear progresses, the hip abduction bar should be adjusted to greater abduction angles as needed to maintain an effective therapeutic stretch of the soft tissue.
Comprehensive Hip Positioning Solution for Mild to Severe Adduction
The SoftPro™ HKO is designed to support progressive hip positioning and gentle tissue stretching for individuals with hip adduction contractures. For cases involving severe hip adduction of less than 30 degrees, an optional Air Bladder Starter Kit is available to assist with initial alignment and comfort. This accessory provides additional support and helps gradually prepare the hips for increased abduction settings during therapy.
