The creative activities in this book prompt students to follow two unlikely friends, J. Pig and M. Wolf, on their adventures around the world. As they travel through make-believe landscapes and use imaginary and real maps students are introduced to fundamental map skills–shape, grids, direction and symbols.
By infusing imaginative map activities with an underlying (and sometimes improbable) story, students are motivated to develop and use a variety of map skills. My World of Maps provides a fun and novel way to learn and apply the basics of understanding maps.
