Supports Proper Head and Neck Alignment
The DynaPro® Torticollis Orthosis provides orthotic therapy for mild to severe torticollis affecting the head and neck. Its flexible upright is designed to accommodate involuntary episodes of increased muscle tone, making it especially effective for managing lateral neck contractures in patients with spasticity. The orthosis supports the restoration of proper head and neck alignment and is most effective when used while the patient is seated or in an upright position. Featuring a “Bend to Fit” shoulder girdle, the device can be hand-shaped to conform to the patient’s shoulder, ensuring proper alignment with the flexible upright centered on the head.
Delivers Targeted Therapeutic Stretch
A shoulder strap is used to keep the device properly positioned during wear. The thermoplastic upright should be heat-molded at a 30-degree forward angle, allowing it to flex into the head and neck upon application to deliver a targeted therapeutic stretch. Thanks to its unique flexible properties, the device helps inhibit muscle activity, creating optimal conditions for the Low Load Prolonged Stretch (LLPS) to take effect and promote improved joint alignment and mobility.
Promotes Lasting Improvement
Extending wear time to three to six hours per session increases the Total End Range Time (TERT), allowing the muscle spindle to reset at a longer resting length. This prolonged stretch promotes lasting improvements in joint range of motion over time. To support ongoing contracture reversal, the upright should be heat-molded and adjusted every 4 to 6 weeks as needed.
